Program Manager Security & Information Security

Assignment

The Federal Pension Service is seeking an experienced Program Manager Security & Information Security to lead the NIS2 program and bring the organization to the required NIS2 Essentials compliance level by April 2027.

You will be responsible for managing the program, coordinating the underlying projects, and monitoring the program objectives. You will work with security specialists, architects, project leaders, and business stakeholders, ensuring that all initiatives are aligned.

Although a strong affinity with security and information security is required, the focus of this role is on program management, governance, stakeholder management, and change management.

The program includes, among others, projects relating to:

  • Strengthening governance and security policy
  • Risk management and compliance within the context of NIS2
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • Security monitoring and incident management
  • Asset, vulnerability, and configuration management
  • Business continuity and disaster recovery
  • Awareness-raising and security awareness
  • Improvement of security processes and control measures

Responsibilities

  • Guiding and coordinating the entire NIS2 program to enable the organization to evolve from the current maturity level to the required NIS2 Essentials level
  • Developing and safeguarding the program governance, roadmap, and priorities
  • Coordinating the various projects, workstreams, and interdependencies within the program
  • Monitoring planning, budget, risks, quality, and program progress
  • Identifying bottlenecks and proactively initiating corrective measures to achieve the program objectives
  • Preparing, initiating, and following up on new projects within the security program
  • Providing clear communication and reporting to management, the program steering committee, and other stakeholders
  • Translating complex security and compliance issues into clear decision-making information
  • Aligning with the ePMO regarding methodology, governance, and progress reporting
  • Guiding the necessary organizational changes and adoption trajectories

Required experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in program and project management
  • Demonstrable experience in leading complex transformation or compliance programs
  • Demonstrable experience with change management
  • Experience in coordinating multiple projects and dependencies within a program
  • Affinity with Business Architecture, Application Architecture, and Technical (Security) Architecture
  • Experience within a federal government institution is an asset

Languages

  • Very good knowledge of Dutch or French, with sufficient knowledge of the other national language
  • English: understanding

Selection criteria

  • Experience with the responsibilities described in the job description
  • Experience with the required experience and competencies in the profile
  • Presentation (during the job interview) of a reference case in which the responsibilities that the Program Manager will have here are demonstrated

At least 2 working days per week present in Brussels
