The assignment is framed within the design and follow-up of pumping installations/flushing systems/pressure pipes, with tasks situated within the electromechanics East team.

Assignment region: east of the Antwerp-Brussels axis (mainly Limburg and Flemish Brabant)

Profile: Project Engineer Electromechanics, with a strong interest in electricity and hydraulic engineering.

Assignment:

Developing and following up on pumping stations, pressure pipes, or stormwater storage tanks, from design, execution, and start-up to aftercare. As lead engineer, you represent Aquafin for the electromechanical part within the agreed frameworks with external and internal customers.

Providing support in the design and execution of projects to internal and external stakeholders with the aim of achieving optimal delivery of these projects through technical expertise in electromechanics, hydraulics, and modeling software.

  • Drafting and evaluating various scenarios to arrive at an optimal project definition, project content, and project timing.
  • Safely designing pumping stations and monitoring safety regarding the contractor.
  • Bearing responsibility for drafting the preliminary design, design, and tender dossier within pre-agreed frameworks, taking into account the wishes and requests of internal and external stakeholders to safeguard the intended quality, available budget, and set timing, including guiding and managing internal staff during the preparation of these dossiers.
  • Organizing the tendering and award process so that the projects are awarded within the validity period and budget, and in compliance with public procurement law.
  • Leading the execution and delivery phase and managing the contractors so that the installations are built and commissioned on time, within budget, and in a qualitative manner, including guiding and managing internal staff (administrative staff, draftsmen, …).
  • Organizing and guiding the delivery process (delivery dossier, test periods) so that the project is completed on time for both internal and external customers.
  • Guaranteeing aftercare with regard to external (subsequent invoices) and internal customers (warranty activities regarding Operations, feedback to Procurement concerning group purchases).
  • Acting as an expert and providing technical and hydraulic advice to various stakeholders inside and outside the organization.
  • Correctly handling claims and damage cases related to pumping stations.
