Business Unit Presentation

Our Research Business Unit (BIREC) is responsible for coordinating information needs in the context of judicial investigations. It coordinates all research functionalities that will be assessed, coordinated, and prioritized. Through partnerships with other Police departments and external services (Justice, etc.), we aim to improve the current tools used by field officers as well as find solutions to new needs and challenges.

Project Presentation

Management of multiple projects:

Verif: project aimed at improving and accelerating screening procedures. This project consists of different sub-projects (screening, OOP44, operational recruitment screening).

My Bike: project aimed at reducing the risk of bicycle theft/handling and increasing the chances of recovery. Entry by the citizen via a personalized badge and direct exploitation by police officers.

KBO: Interface allowing consultation of the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises: Updates, developments, maintenance.

Penal Code: The New Penal Code involves updating all our applications for the integration of aggravating circumstances – Application allowing consultation and retrieval of criminal records.

As part of the projects mentioned above, your main missions will be:

• Manage IT projects (governmental solutions, regulatory)
• Gather and analyze business needs, write functional and technical specifications
• Coordinate stakeholders (internal teams, clients, partners, suppliers)
• Plan, organize, and monitor project progress (scoping, design, validation, change management)
• Manage and lead project teams (staffing, skills development, incident management)
• Ensure training for collaborators and users
• Develop monitoring dashboards and performance indicators
• Perform DPIA (Data Protection Impact Assessment) and ensure regulatory compliance
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and tools to support the digital transformation of police services.
