Here are the different missions of the “PMO” team lead.
The Head of PMO is responsible for the ‘Project Management Office’ (PMO) team. Team management (people management)
Strategy and Project Portfolio Management
- Define and maintain the project governance framework to ensure alignment with the overall strategy of the i-CITY organization and clients, in collaboration with the DMO (Demand Management Office).
- Manage the construction of a transversal portfolio with strategic responsibility aligned with the business (client) strategy and IT innovation, supported by the SIO (Strategy & Innovation Office).
- Lead consultancy files: requirements gathering, selection, contracting, operational follow-up, deliverables evaluation, and validation of services.
- Prepare functional and technical analysis files within the framework of demand management, as well as develop business cases to support decision-making and assess the value provided by the DMO (Demand Management Office).
- Ensure that the business case linked to each request is updated throughout the construction phase (project) and still meets client expectations, in collaboration with the DMO (Demand Management Office).
Resource and Risk Management
- Coordinate the allocation of human and material resources across different projects.
- Identify, assess, and monitor risks to anticipate deviations and implement action plans.
- Contribute to the optimization of internal/external resources and ensure consistency of interventions with the organization’s overall strategy.
- Supervise the effective management of internal teams and partners, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to deadlines.
Methodologies and Best Practices
- Standardize the methods, tools, and templates used by all project managers.
- Develop guides and offer training to increase maturity in project management.
- Ensure the application of project methodologies and processes.
Operational Support and Skills Development
- Coach project managers.
- Review deliverables (planning, budget, risks).
- Advise to resolve bottlenecks and optimize processes.
Steering, Monitoring, and Reporting
- Lead follow-up forums with stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate portfolio reviews (project committees, steering committees, etc.).
- Develop dashboards and key performance indicators.
- Collect and consolidate project data (progress, budget, risks).
- Produce periodic reports for sponsors and top management.
