ABOUT THE POSITION
The position is responsible for developing and implementing safety guidelines, contributing to and guiding projects related to safety, conducting and verifying safety studies with the aim of contributing to the safe operation of the organization.
- Developing and contributing to the implementation of safety guidelines with the aim of continuously improving safety.
- Drafting guidelines regarding safety.
- Monitoring and optimizing concepts based on new regulations and standards.

Monitoring issues associated with safety and proactively responding to them.

Preparing, guiding, conducting, monitoring, and verifying safety studies within the context of projects, whether or not at the request of the authorities, and safety analyses for new installations or modifications to existing installations, with the goal of delivering safe installations.
- Monitoring the safety aspects of projects.
- Conducting safety analyses.

Coordinating and organizing the various studies/analyses of the Safety department.

Taking on the project management of safety-specific projects (e.g., the ten-yearly review, stress test, …) with the aim of successfully completing these projects.
- Defining the scope of the project.
- Providing content direction and monitoring the project, including supervising employees.

Monitoring the budget and set deadlines.

Performing and/or guiding studies for licensing files for new installations with the aim of meeting quality requirements and safety and environmental standards.
- Preparing and/or guiding safety and environmental impact reports (VR-MER).
- Drafting licensing files in collaboration with colleagues from other departments.

Defending the file with the competent authorities (calculation methods, assumptions made, …) in collaboration with colleagues from other departments.

Performing calculations and/or modeling to provide support to other departments.
- Performing shielding and dose impact calculations.
- Developing and co-developing new models.
- Verifying and adjusting various reports and studies (e.g., radiological characterization, recognition of measurement systems, …)
