1. Presentation of ETNIC

ETNIC (Entreprise pour les Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication) is the IT operator of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. As a public interest organization, ETNIC’s mission is to design, develop, maintain, and evolve information systems and technological infrastructures serving the administrations and institutions of the FWB.

As a central player in the digital transformation of the French-speaking Belgian public sector, ETNIC is particularly involved in:

• Management of IT infrastructures (on-premise and hybrid),
• Development and maintenance of business applications,
• Decision-making platforms and Business Intelligence,
• Governance, security, and data quality,
• User and business team support.

In this context, ETNIC is strengthening its BI teams through a specialized SAP BusinessObjects consultancy assignment, focused on ETL, data integration, and reporting.

The mission involves technical and operational support of the SAP BusinessObjects platform, with a focus on SAP BODS, SQL, IDT universes, and Web Intelligence, in a multi-source and multi-environment context.

2. Mission

1. Data Integration & ETL – SAP BODS

• Analysis of data sources (DB2 LUW, DB2 UDB, SQL Server, flat files, CSV).
• Design and development of ETL flows with SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS):
• Jobs, workflows, and dataflows,
• Mapping, transformation rules, error handling.
• Performance optimization (volume, parallelization).
• Implementation of best practices for industrialization:
• Configuration,
• Logs,
• Incident recovery,
• Technical documentation

2. SQL & Datawarehouse

• Modeling and feeding of staging, ODS, and datamart structures.
• SQL development:
• Complex queries,
• Views,
• Functions and stored procedures if necessary.
• Analysis and optimization of SQL performance related to BODS processes.

3. SAP BusinessObjects Universes – IDT

• Design and maintenance of universes with Information Design Tool (IDT):
• Semantic model,
• Joins,
• Contexts,
• Calculated objects.
• Optimization of universes for robust and high-performance use in Web Intelligence.

4. Reporting – SAP Web Intelligence (WebI)

• Design and evolution of SAP Web Intelligence reports:
• Queries,
• Variables,
• Formulas,
• Formatting.
• Support and correction of existing reports.
• Assistance to business users (data understanding, interpretation of results).

5. Environment Management & Documentation

• Structured work on Development, Acceptance, and Production environments.
• Participation in transport and production deployment processes (ETL, universes, reports).
• Compliance with BI governance, security, and traceability rules.
• Documentation of delivered solutions and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
