About the assignment

For a specific data engineering project, we are looking for an experienced SAS Base Developer with a strong focus on developing ETL processes. The assignment has an initial duration of 50 days, with the possibility of extension depending on project progress and budget.

You will be working in a Linux environment and will be fully focused on building, optimizing, and automating data flows. The role is purely technical: no analytics, no SAS DI Studio – but in-depth knowledge of SAS Base, SAS Studio, and ETL logic is required.

Your responsibilities

• Develop, test, and document ETL processes in SAS Base.
• Build efficient extraction, transformation, and load logic for various data sources (XML, CSV, SAS).
• Optimize existing SAS jobs and improve performance.
• Automate batch processes within a Linux environment.
• Collaborate with functional analysts and SAS Base developers to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Ensure clear documentation and transferability of the developed components.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience with SAS Base (DATA steps, PROC SQL, macros).
• Demonstrable experience with ETL development in complex data environments.
• Experience with Linux/Unix (shell scripting is a plus).
• Able to work independently, in a structured manner, and with a focus on quality.
