Scrum Master
Mission Terms
As part of its activities, ORES is looking for a Scrum Master.
This is a full-time assignment estimated to last 1 year and ideally starting as soon as possible.
Part of the assignment may, in agreement with the manager, be carried out remotely, but a presence at the Gosselies site for at least 2 days per week is mandatory. Additional days of on-site presence may be requested from the consultant, depending on the needs of the department (occasionally). Since the Gosselies site is not easily accessible by public transport, having a driver's license and a vehicle will be preferable for commuting.
Mission Context
ORES is currently undergoing a transformation phase in which all its services are being organized into different tribes by theme. This approach aims to increase cohesion between business and IT teams, encourage collaborative work on a set of products, and ensure overall consistency.
The role of Scrum Master will be dedicated to supporting the Markets tribe. This tribe aims to optimally address the new challenges related to market exchanges, the services underpinning these exchanges, and the management of related data.
The Scrum Master is mandated to guide Agile teams through the "Scrum" framework, in a "servant leader" attitude (serving the team) and as a facilitator. Initially, they help set up these teams and support learning agility within these teams, and subsequently, help them work autonomously and continuously improve in order to deliver or enhance product quality while maximizing value.
Main Tasks
The Scrum Master:
- Guarantees the Scrum framework within the teams and adherence to Agile principles
- Organizes and facilitates Scrum ceremonies (Daily, Sprint planning, Sprint review, Refinement meeting, retrospective, story mapping) for the different teams
- Ensures that the product backlogs and sprint backlogs are complete, maintained, and prioritized, with sufficient backlog depth
- Ensures that the "definition of ready" (DoR) and the "definition of done" (DoD) are well defined and respected
- Communicates transparently with stakeholders on task progress, providing, among other things, team metrics (velocity, burndown, story points, etc.)
- Ensures that all obstacles ("impediments") are identified and removed
- Provides visibility and transparency on Sprint progress
- Ensures team dynamics by giving them the necessary pace to ensure delivery
- Guides teams to be autonomous, responsible, to continuously improve, and to stay focused on the Sprint goal
- Protects teams from interferences
- Facilitates and participates in good communication between the various development teams
- Is responsible for strengthening the Agile approach within the Product and Factory teams and for coaching the teams
