RVA is looking to strengthen its data office with a senior data & cloud architect. The desired position reports directly to the CDO and will be responsible for a set of data tracks within RVA.

More specifically, the following responsibilities are foreseen:

• Data architecture
• Management of the tech roadmap and framework for data storage, integration, and internal and external data flows (both on-prem and cloud)
• Data architecture and guidelines regarding Java and Cobol applications for storage and organization of data, as well as defining the strategy in the transition from Cobol to Java
• Designing data architectures and defining guidelines for the domains of data mining and statistics
• Advisor PowerData tooling (dbt, Python, data integration)
• Lead Python Centre of Excellence and Python quality reporting
• Lead modern Data Platform project
• Design & Implementation
• Project Management/Product Owner
• Knowledge sharing with and from other federal entities
• Ensuring compliance according to the IVC decision IVC/KSZG/24/114

Other responsibilities:

• Point of contact regarding IVC decision IVC/KSZG/24/114 internally for data-related matters
• Advice on Microsoft Copilot in terms of security & data
• Close cooperation with the enterprise architect to align the data architecture and enterprise architecture
• Advisor Secrets Management
• Advisor IAM
• Board member internal Cloud Center of Excellence
• Participation in Federal Taskforce for Public Cloud

Proven experience of at least 6 years is required in data management, AI, and Azure Cloud. For the desired position, proven experience of at least 3 years is also expected in leading a team as well as demonstrable and recent experience in project management. Additionally, proven experience is required with terraforms, kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

For the desired position, proven and recent experience is also required in designing and implementing data cloud architectures, as well as experience in providing operational support for these.

Demonstrable experience is required in designing cloud data architectures as well as implementation experience in line with IVC decision IVC/KSZG/24/114.

For the desired position, we require certification in Azure Cloud as well as certification in data engineering.
