Description

The MOW data lab offers expertise and innovative solutions in data science and analytics. The team's focus is on exploring data to discover insights and patterns, make predictions, and generate recommendations, using advanced techniques such as big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

To further develop future big data analysis projects, we are looking for a Data Scientist.

Context

• Data science work: Indicating which data is needed when collecting data to perform analyses, both in terms of data availability, quality, format, granularity, etc. Selecting and creating high-quality machine learning models, extracting insights from the data and models, and visualizing these results.
• AI work: Taking on assignments where AI can create added value for the organization and independently developing and putting these assignments into production.
• Data engineering work: Collecting and analyzing existing and new data sources, transforming and manipulating data, setting up a data pipeline, importing the data into the Microsoft Azure infrastructure environment, and performing operations to prepare this data as qualitatively as possible for the machine learning model. Knowledge of Cloud Platforms is therefore a must, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• DevOps work: Bringing applications and services into production at a rapid pace. Developing potential applications for the end user.
• The General Technical Support department is part of the Mobility and Public Works policy domain. The developed data science models / AI products are created to support the various departments of the policy domain.

Skills

Must-have

• Demonstrable experience with cloud platform Microsoft Azure
• Demonstrable experience with data infrastructure: Terraform, Infrastructure-as-Code
• Demonstrable experience in creating UI interfaces for AI services (Azure AI foundry, NiceGUI)
• Demonstrable experience in ML modeling (Statistics, Predictive analytics, Time series prediction, Computer Vision) and AI (Generative AI, Deep learning, neural networks, Libraries: Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Pytorch, OpenCV)
• Demonstrable experience in deploying applications: containerization (Azure container apps, docker) and automation with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub actions)
• Demonstrable experience in optimizing/tuning databases and queries
• Demonstrable experience in analyzing data streams
• Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR - level C2

Nice-to-have

• Demonstrable experience with analytics platforms: Azure ML, Databricks, Jupyter notebooks
• Demonstrable experience with data manipulation and processing: ETL, Pandas, Databricks, Numpy, Scipy, …
• Demonstrable experience with databases: MS SQL, Postgres, CosmosDB and data storage: Blob Storage, Datalake
• Demonstrable experience in setting up APIs to make data available: FastAPI
• Demonstrable experience in developing applications for end users (prototyping, MLOps, …)
• Demonstrable experience with programming languages: Python (Spark, …)
• Demonstrable experience with visualizations and reporting: Python packages (Altair, Plotly, Matplotlib, …), Grafana
