FEDASIL provides material assistance to applicants for international protection and other categories of foreigners who are also entitled to reception (Reception Act of January 12, 2007). FEDASIL organizes, either directly or with its partners, quality reception and guidance. The Agency also manages observation and orientation for unaccompanied foreign minors (UFM). FEDASIL coordinates programs for voluntary return from Belgium. The Agency participates in the design, preparation, and implementation of the reception policy. As part of various initiatives, FEDASIL ensures the integration of reception centers into the local community.

Purpose

You contribute to the development of Fedasil's internal applications, in order to meet the specific needs of the agency and its employees.

• You participate in the necessary technical analyses to develop these applications, in tandem with business and functional analysts.
• You take part in the actual development of the required software components, together with your immediate colleagues in the development team.
• You also participate in the deployment, maintenance, and support of these applications, in close collaboration with the system, network, and infrastructure engineers, as well as with the helpdesk.

Relevant professional experience required in the IT field during which you have performed at least the following tasks:

• Writing programs
• Improving existing applications
• Adapting applications based on technical evolutions (hardware and software)
• Adapting applications based on regulatory and administrative changes
• Ensuring a user-friendly interface for applications
• Analyzing and resolving bugs

You have also participated in the following tasks:

• Deploying developments in different environments
• Adapting the database structure
• Optimizing the performance of existing developments
• Documenting the developments carried out

Our expectations

• You have hands-on experience in development in one of the following three languages:

• JavaScript or TypeScript + React

• NodeJS

• Java

• You have at least a passive knowledge of the second national language and are proficient in English

• You have experience with Agile / Scrum methodology

• You have technical experience in the following areas:

• Containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)

• Cloud environments (Azure)
• Operating systems (Windows, Linux)
• Other programming languages
• Databases (PostgreSQL)
