Who are we?

Fednot is the Federation of Belgian Notaries. Our mission is to support over 1,100 notary offices and approximately 8,000 notary employees with legal expertise, management advice, IT solutions, training, and information for the general public.

As a division of Fednot, the ICT service unit develops innovative solutions that support notaries in their digital transformation journey and improve the overall user experience for notaries and their customers. We develop and deliver software that cover all notary domains (real estate, enterprise, family, etc.) and are based on state-of-the-art technologies.

The job:

As a Senior Functional Tester, you are in charge of checking that the developed software operates as expected, on both technical and functional level. You support the other members of the software design and delivery team by bringing your expertise. You are responsible for functional and non-functional testing, end-to-end testing with external partners, from integration to qualification as well as end user support for acceptance testing. You also play a role in the continuous improvement effort of testing processes and the implementation of quality assurance.

You will report to the Software Team Leader and work in close contact with functional analysts, developers and engineers within our operations department.

As Senior Functional Tester (automated for API’s + manual), your main responsibilities will include:

  • To write the test strategy
  • To review business requests and analysis documents
  • To create and execute test cases, scenarios and plans
  • To follow up on defects and issues and write test reports
  • To automate test cases by using different tools depending on technologies and needs
  • To support the involved teams and to assist your team in the estimation of the test effort and test plan required for projects
  • To improve processes and test deliverables

Technical skills… You have…

  • A bachelor’s degree or above
  • Minimal 5 years of relevant experience in software testing (manual and automated)
  • Experience with manual testing, API testing and building test strategies
  • Strong knowledge of testing processes and methodologies (ISTQB certification is an asset)
  • Experience in testing Java services, web services, REST API’s, proxy services
  • Solid experience in analyzing and modelling complex processes and workflows
  • Knowledge of tools such as Jira, Xray and ReadyAPI. Plug-ins are a plus
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Experience with Groovy Script or equivalence
  • Nice to have: familiarity with public administration systems

  • Fluent in both Dutch/English or French/English and you at least have a good understanding of the language for which you wouldn’t be fluent
  • A real team player at ease with sharing knowledge and best practices with colleagues, able to create an atmosphere of openness
  • Attentive to details, have strong analytical and communication skills
  • Result driven and never diminish quality for speed
