Senior Exchange Specialist – Migration Assignment Exchange 2019 → Exchange Server SE

For a short, specialized consultancy assignment we are looking for a Senior Exchange Specialist with demonstrable experience in migrating from Exchange Server 2019 to Exchange Server Subscription Edition (Exchange SE). You will be responsible for the complete technical preparation, planning, execution, and validation of the migration.

Your Work Context

Working at VSSE has a significant societal impact, by safeguarding the country’s security, preventing security risks, advising political, judicial, and military authorities, and disrupting threats.

You have Belgian nationality and speak FR or NL as your main language with at least a basic knowledge of the other language and English.

Your Role

• Analyzing the current Exchange 2019 environment (architecture, configuration, security, dependencies).
• Drafting a migration plan to Exchange Server SE including risk analysis, fallback scenarios, and planning.
• Installation, configuration, and optimization of the new Exchange SE environment.
• Executing the data migration (mailboxes, public folders, policies, connectors).
• Validating functionality, stability, security, and integrations after migration.
• Delivering documentation of the new environment and the executed migration steps.
• Handover and knowledge sharing with the internal team.

Your Profile

• At least 5–10 years of experience with Microsoft Exchange, including migrations between major versions (2010/2016/2019 → SE).
• Very strong knowledge of Exchange 2019, Exchange SE, hybrid configurations, and mail flow.
• In-depth experience with PowerShell, SMTP, EWS, load balancing, and certificates.
• Excellent understanding of security (DMARC, SPF, DKIM, anti-spam, anti-malware, RBAC).
• Independent, strong communicator, and accustomed to working in complex environments.
• Able to execute a migration smoothly, structured, and with minimal downtime.

Assignment Duration
