Senior Network and Security Engineer

Job Title: Senior Network and Security Engineer

As a Network and Security Engineer, you are responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and securing the network and security landscape of the Federal Judicial Police.

We aim to redesign our network to better fit current needs, with particular attention to our hybrid setup (on-prem and Azure). To achieve this, regular meetings are held with our other internal experts (Enterprise Architect, local and federal network and system engineers, and external partners).

In addition, you will also be involved in helping to develop our data platform. Experience with system and data infrastructure is therefore a significant asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Redesigning the current network
  • Improving, implementing, and expanding LANs, WANs, and cloud networks.
  • Configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Optimizing network performance and availability.

  • Developing and implementing security policy:

  • Implementing security measures and protocols to protect the network infrastructure.
  • Monitoring and responding to security incidents.
  • Conducting regular security audits and risk analyses.

  • Cloud integration:

  • Optimizing the hybrid setup.
  • Managing cloud security and access control.

  • Network management:

  • Maintaining network documentation and topologies.
  • Troubleshooting network issues and providing technical support.

  • Collaboration:

  • Working with other IT teams and departments to understand and support network requirements.
  • Participating in projects for the implementation of new technologies and solutions.

Requirements:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in IT, network management, information security, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in network design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, VPNs, firewalls, and network security.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to network issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Language skills: English + understanding of one, or preferably both, national languages.

Nice to have:

  • Certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in environments with high security requirements.
  • Experience with Azure.
  • Experience with system and data infrastructure.
