For one of our partners, NTT DATA is actively looking for a Senior Solution Engineer. This freelance position is based in Brussels and homeworking of two days is allowed.

A modernization route has been launched within the company, translated into the X program. It is a very ambitious programme consisting of a number of initiatives, with a very tight schedule. In order to continue to shape and develop the program, we are looking for strong profiles who wish to engage until the completion of the programme, expected at least until the end of the year 2027.

One of the profiles we are looking for is that of an expert level solution engineer (at least 10 years experience). We expect this person to be able to convert autonomously and without a high-level solution architecture into an implementation architecture, and its effective implementation. You will form a team with other experienced people, highly competent and motivated. You will always be able to draw on the knowledge and skills of our enterprise architect.

The focus is on analysis, design and implementation.

• A degree in computer science from higher education of short or long type, obtained in a school or a recognized European university, is compulsory.
• Continuously update to keep up with the latest trends in sustainable innovations, in the field of IT,
• 10 years of practical experience in API design/definition and development,
• 10 years of practical experience in the development and integration of micro-services,
• 10 years of practical experience in Java SE,
• 5 years of practical experience with Java SE10+,
• 5 years of practical experience in software design (cloud, API, microservice, event),
• 5 years of practical experience in event-based architecture and systems
• 5 years of practical experience in cloud software development (native), preferably Azure Cloud,
• 3 years of practical experience in PaaS integration, preferably Azure Cloud,
• 3 years of practical experience with NoSQL databases,
• 3 years of practical experience in the implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps,
• 3 years of practical experience in implementation/configuration, optimization and maintenance
• 1 year of practical experience with the Quarkus java framework,
• 5 years of experience working (together) in Agile delivery teams.
• Knowledge of Event Driven and/or Behavioral Driven Development is an advantage,
• Knowledge of Domain Driven Design is an advantage,
• Knowledge of European interoperability is an asset,
• Knowledge of pre-existing modules and services in the federal government context is an asset.
• Ability to propose alternative solutions and make recommendations on measures to make choices, taking into account the whole context
• Good listening, flexible attitude and ability to communicate with technical stakeholders and non-technical,

You will work collaboratively with other engineers, and the company's stakeholders. Therefore, there must be a commitment to solve common problems, advanced design and delivery are essential.
• As a solution engineer, you need to understand the whole stack and solution of computer design to support the team; thus guiding in developing safe and robust solutions, and in the production of applications and application maintenance by collaboration with other team members/engineers.
• You will use your technical expertise and experience to contribute to all sprint events (planning, refinements, retrospectives, demonstrations).
• You will continuously develop your own expertise while learning new tools and new practices and disseminate within the team.
