Role: Service Now developer (Employee Centre and CMDB) - General Secretariat of the Council of the EU

Location: Remote from Europe - General Secretariat of the Council of the EU

Responsibilities

Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:

• Develop and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data.
• Design workflows for discovery, data integration, and reconciliation.
• Collaborate with IT teams to define configuration item (CI) relationships and dependencies.
• Implement best practices for CMDB governance and data quality, data accuracy and completeness.
• Develop and manage data integration processes between ServiceNow and other IT systems.
• Provide technical support for IT operations, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CMDB functionality and integrations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of CMDB management.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for CMDB processes, data integration workflows, and technical support procedures.
• ServiceNow Employee Centre development experience.
• Design, develop, and deploy new ServiceNow portal solutions and enhancements, including managing bi-annual upgrades to ensure the platform remains up-to-date and optimized.
• Handle all aspects of the development process, from gathering requirements and designing solutions to testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Understand business needs and translate them into effective ServiceNow solutions.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest ServiceNow features and functionalities.

Requirements

Following skills are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in Service Now development, data integrations, and technical support
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB development and integration
• Strong understanding of discovery tools and scripting using JavaScript, PowerShell
• Understanding of ITIL processes, especially Configuration Management

Certificates:

• Service Now System Administrator
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - CMDB
• Service Now Certified Application Developer

Languages:

• Excellent knowledge of English - Level C1 in Understanding, Speaking and Writing

Some soft skills the client will appreciate:

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Ability to work efficiently in a remote or hybrid team, using standard tools such as Microsoft Teams
