Purpose of the position

You are responsible for guiding the technical implementation of a new intranet based on Microsoft SharePoint Online.

The role includes analysis, planning, development, and execution with the goal of delivering a stable, user-friendly, and future-proof intranet environment in SharePoint.

This concerns a 20-day assignment, the schedule of which can be arranged in consultation (1/5 or 2/5).

Context

The Communications Directorate is responsible for managing the intranet, which is built in Drupal. The migration will also be carried out by this department. In preparation for this project, a content and functional analysis is already underway.

Recently, the DMS of the FPS was migrated from Alfresco to SharePoint. The aim is for the intranet to be part of the same SharePoint environment and for all sites (team sites, hub sites, and the communication sites to be developed) to be well aligned.

We are looking for a senior consultant for the technical guidance during the transition of the intranet to a SharePoint environment.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Carrying out a technical analysis of the as-is and to-be environment (structure, content, users, permissions, integrations).
• Collaborating with functional administrators and key users to translate requirements and wishes into the SharePoint environment.
• Drafting a migration plan including schedule, risks, and technical approach.
• Developing and configuring the SharePoint environment (structure, navigation, metadata, permissions).
• Documenting the technical implementation and transfer to management.
• Providing technical support during the implementation.

Requirements / Profile

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint Online and related Microsoft 365 tools.
• Experience with setting up information architecture, metadata, and permissions in SharePoint.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
• Experience working in project-based environments.
• Communicative, able to clearly explain technical choices to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
