Solution & Application Architect – DEVOPS

General Context

The organization operates in a complex technological environment combining a legacy application landscape and modern components. The context includes a structural transformation of the IT landscape, modernization of architectures, reduction of technical debt, Cloud adoption, and compliance with regulatory requirements, notably NIS2.

The existing applications cover critical areas such as unemployment regulation (payments, debt management, financial and accounting processing). Part of these systems rely on legacy technologies, while new Cloud/hybrid architectures are emerging. The architect plays a key role in harmonizing, securing, and making these architectures consistent.

Currently, the assignment would be 20% architecture work and 80% lead developer and DevOps.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Support to Development Teams

  2. Conduct technical analyses within business projects.

  3. Advise on integrations, data models, performance, and scalability.

  4. Guide teams in adopting technologies and architectural patterns.

  5. Initiate or validate Proof-of-Concepts.

  6. Mentor & assist the developer team in integrating solutions.

  7. Vision and Architectural Design

  8. Define, review, and maintain coherent, scalable, and secure Cloud / hybrid architectures.

  9. Translate enterprise architecture orientations into concrete technical models.

  10. Design aligned, high-performance, and maintainable application and data architectures.

  11. Ensure that architectural decisions support business objectives.

  12. Security, Compliance, and Resilience

  13. Integrate security from the design phase (security by design).

  14. Design secure architectures: network segmentation, robust IAM, access management, encryption.

  15. Translate NIS2 requirements into concrete technical measures.

  16. Promote secure coding practices and monitoring/auditability mechanisms.

  17. Governance and Quality

  18. Organize and lead design reviews.

  19. Ensure compliance with architecture standards and best practices.

  20. Continually improve maintainability, security, and decoupling of systems.

  21. Systematically document architectural decisions.

  22. Collaboration and Change Management

  23. Ensure communication between business, development, security, and infrastructure teams.

  24. Explain technical choices clearly and accessibly.

  25. Support collective decision-making and manage the convergence of visions.

  26. Contribute to upskilling the teams.

  27. Expertise and Problem Solving

  28. Analyze and resolve complex technical problems in a highly interconnected environment.

  29. Ensure the consistency of legacy and modern components.

Required Technical Skills

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in designing complex IT architectures.

  • Mastery of Cloud environments (GCP, Azure, AWS) and Cloud-native principles.

  • Expertise in modern Java (Spring, microservices, API-driven, event-driven).

  • Skills in containerization and orchestrators (OpenShift).

  • Advanced knowledge of relational databases (MySQL) and data modeling.

  • Knowledge of integrations: messaging, REST/GraphQL, event-driven.

  • Knowledge of resilient and high-availability architectures.

  • Understanding of security standards (NIS2).
