Solution Architect
Position
As a solution architect within the Federal Pension Service, you will be responsible for the functional and technical architecture of one of the 7 tactical domains. For your assigned domain, you will develop the various architecture deliverables that provide your team and stakeholders with a clear overview of the functionalities, processes, and information concepts managed within the domain.
Together with your clients, you define the business services that your domain delivers and makes available to the organization. As a solution architect, you work closely with the domain application architect, who translates your business architecture deliverables into application components, application functions, and application services. As a solution architect, you are closely involved with the knowledge workers of the various client departments. You implement a unified terminology for both business and IT stakeholders and also ensure that architectural frameworks are known and understood. Together with the Domain Portfolio Manager, you ensure that the architectural deliverables are embedded in the tactical governance.
You are involved in the content preparation of strategic changes and provide the high-level design of tactical changes. You ensure clear functional scoping of work packages that are handed over to projects and/or product teams.
Technical and Generic Competencies
- You are a good communicator: you spend a large part of your time on communication, you involve your clients and stakeholders in the solution architecture narrative and work with them to develop the right solution direction for the identified problems.
- You enjoy structuring complex matters for your stakeholders: pension matters are complex, and you are willing to navigate through many details in order to define suitable conceptual structures.
- You know how to distinguish the essential from the non-essential: as a solution architect, you safeguard the big picture, and in collaboration with project teams and product teams, you sense when to stand your ground and when not to.
- You are a team player: you are part of a tactical team with which you manage your domain. Within the tactical team, your focus is on the functional content, but all aspects are taken into account when working out complex issues. Additionally, you will actively participate in the Community, where you coordinate methodology and cross-domain issues together with your fellow business architects.
- You coach other architects working in the community, regarding the collaboration model, working with Archimate, building insights (best practices), and communicating to stakeholders (change management).
