Surveyor-Expert (Medior)

About the Agency and Traffic

Our roads connect everything to everyone. Wherever you drive, walk, or cycle, whoever you are, the road brings us together. This is only possible if these connections are safe, smooth, and sustainable for all road users in Flanders, now and in the future. That is what we, as an Agency, are fully committed to. We manage 7,000 km of regional and motorways and over 7,700 km of cycling paths in Flanders with heart and soul.

It’s about more than just roads. Think of tunnels, bridges, ecoducts, traffic lights, highway lighting, road markings… But also our Traffic Center, which focuses on the traffic flows on the motorways. With 1,300 colleagues divided over 10 departments and 23 districts, spread across all Flemish provinces, we have a wealth of expertise and field knowledge.

We manage the road not only physically but also digitally. We are working on digital construction models of our infrastructure (BIM) and, for example, with ‘mobilidata’ we are actively shaping a future where self-driving cars, smart traffic lights, and traffic-controlling applications are the new normal.

You don’t realize infrastructure projects alone. You do that together with many colleagues. You can always count on everyone. And everyone counts on you. We are a hands-on agency. Our job is not always predictable and we act quickly in our projects. Thanks to our positivity and open mindset, we always find solutions for unexpected issues. And from problems along the way, we learn and especially remember the takeaways.

Our open communication culture and great accessibility characterize us. We prioritize a pleasant atmosphere and the well-being of our colleagues.

Land Surveyor-Expert at the Road Infrastructure Design Team

The Road Infrastructure Design Team is a central team, falling under the Asset Information and Road Infrastructure Inspections department of the Agency for Roads and Traffic of the Flemish Government, located in Evere. Our team members have work locations in the various provinces of Flanders.

Our team is responsible for designing road infrastructure to support the territorial departments and project managers. The team operates in three domains: land surveying, CAD design, and management of the plan archive. It partly serves as an internal study bureau and provides support in the development of investment projects and PCV files.

Domain Land Surveying

The land surveying work carried out within the team serves the designs that are also made within the team itself by the CAD designers road infrastructure. In this, they differ from the Patrimony land surveyors who are mainly engaged in supporting road infrastructure not designed internally. The land surveyors provide support for in-house designs with the following tasks:

  • measuring the current situation
  • preparing acquisition plans
  • determining public domain boundaries
  • setting out data on the construction site
  • support in case of disputes on site / control measurements

To support our team of land surveyors, we are looking for an additional resource who will mainly be deployed in the provinces of Limburg and Flemish Brabant. This does not mean that assignments in other provinces are excluded.

On office days, you can choose between both locations, Hasselt or Leuven:

  • Working from home is negotiable
  • The contract starts for a duration of 1 year, possibly renewable annually
  • The price is annually adjustable
  • Travel costs are included in the stated price
