For Cegeka in Hasselt, we are looking for a System Engineer Datacenter with a minimum of 5 years of experience, who wants to contribute to managing and optimizing a critical datacenter infrastructure.

Practical

• Location: Hasselt (Universiteitslaan)
• Presence: minimum 2 days per week onsite
• Telework: possible in combination
• On-call duty: ± 10 weeks per year
• Language skills: Dutch and English

Positioning

We are looking for a hands-on system engineer who combines technical depth with project coordination and takes ownership of critical infrastructure components within the datacenter.

Context

You will join an environment where reliability, continuity, and quality of the technical installations are central. You will contribute to the management, optimization, and further professionalization of the datacenter infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating technical projects and following up with external parties involved
• Drawing up and managing documentation regarding technical installations and specifications
• Organizing and optimizing maintenance activities to guarantee continuity
• Performing and coordinating technical interventions on the existing infrastructure
• Managing and improving procedures and standard solutions within operations
• Monitoring project parameters: budget, planning, quality, risks, and communication
• Performing in-depth analyses on:
• electrical installations
• HVAC systems
• security systems
• Active contribution to the reliability and performance of the datacenter

Profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent through experience), preferably in electromechanics / industrial sciences
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, within a datacenter context (must)
• Demonstrable experience in one or more domains:
• electricity
• HVAC
• fire safety
• security
• technical project management
• Strong analytical skills combined with a pragmatic approach
• Interest in both technical analyses and project-based follow-up
• Communicative, flexible, and team-oriented
• Eager to learn and up-to-date with technological developments
