ROLE

For support with a clean-up and optimization project within our hybrid Microsoft environment – rollout of M365 optimization (AD, GPO, Exchange, Powershell)

PROFILE

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Hybrid Microsoft infrastructure
• Strong in Active Directory
• OU structure, user & computer management
• GPO management, troubleshooting, rationalization
• Scripting
• experience with migration from VBScript to PowerShell
• PowerShell best practices (error handling, logging, functions/modules)
• Exchange On-Prem & Exchange Online
• management, migrations, hybrid mail flow
• transport rules, policy clean-up
• Able to independently manage clean-up and migration trajectories
• Able to provide documentation and knowledge transfer
• Hands-on, independent, and strong communication skills

ASSIGNMENT

1/ ASSIGNMENT CONTEXT

Our Zorggroep Annendael is in a transition phase in which a hybrid Microsoft environment (on-prem + cloud) must be further simplified, standardized, and optimized.

There is a need for a technical consultant who provides hands-on support in a clean-up and rationalization trajectory around M365, Active Directory, GPOs, Exchange (on-prem/online), and automation via PowerShell.

The consultant works closely with the internal IT team and must be able to independently provide analysis, execution, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

2/ ASSIGNMENT OBJECTIVE

The consultant will be responsible for the following core tasks:

Active Directory and GPO

• Analysis of the current AD structure and detection of inconsistencies
• Cleaning up and restructuring OU models and delegations
• Rationalization of existing GPOs (duplicates, outdated settings, inconsistencies)
• Setting up a manageable and documented GPO architecture

Scripting and automation

• Inventory of existing VBScript scripts
• Migration to PowerShell according to best practices (logging, error handling, modular design, security)
• Automation of management tasks in AD, Exchange Online, and M365

Exchange / Exchange Online

• Analysis and optimization of the hybrid Exchange configuration
• Optimization of mail flow, connectors, policy hygiene, and transport rules
• Support with mailbox migrations or rationalization of archive, quota, and policy

Documentation and transfer

• Providing clear technical documentation (As-Is/To-Be)
• Creating SOPs and management procedures
• Knowledge transfer to the internal IT team

Tasks:

• AD & GPO – analysis report + clean-up plan
• Rationalized and documented GPO structure
• PowerShell – script library to replace legacy VBS
• Exchange/EXO optimization – overview
• SOPs and runbooks for management tasks
• Transfer documentation + KT-sessions

Duration: 20 working days (1 month), on-site, minimum 3 days per week onsite availability
