Technical Project Manager
Context
As part of its fare collection system renewal program, LETEC is seeking to collaborate with a Technical Project Manager to coordinate the implementation of the program’s “Technical” topics. The assignment covers the following three projects:
- Installation of new fare collection equipment (validators, sales terminals, portable control devices, etc.)
- Uninstallation and recycling of existing equipment
- Implementation and monitoring of the hardware maintenance system
The position holder will play a key integration role between business teams, technical teams, regional Business Units, and external suppliers.
Your mission
You will take full responsibility for three major technical projects within the fare collection program:
1. Equipment installation
You will oversee all activities enabling the installation of new equipment on the LETEC network:
- defining deployment strategies and plans;
- defining and validating installation plans for all types of LETEC and rental vehicles;
- coordinating installations on vehicles and infrastructures;
- verifying installation quality;
- monitoring test platforms and laboratories;
- organizing pilots and phased rollouts;
- coordinating interventions with regional operators;
- tracking schedules and dependencies with other projects in the program.
2. Uninstallation & recycling
You will organize the gradual removal of the existing fare collection equipment:
- preparing the uninstallation specifications;
- coordinating dismantling operations;
- monitoring storage, repurposing, or recycling of equipment;
- monitoring the restoration of the impacted infrastructures;
- coordinating with technical services and the design office.
3. Hardware maintenance
You will design and implement the operational maintenance model for the new equipment in partnership with internal operational stakeholders:
- defining maintenance processes;
- setting up spare parts management;
- monitoring maintenance contracts;
- monitoring SLAs established in the contract;
- coordinating corrective and preventive interventions;
- managing availability indicators.
Financial and contractual management
You are responsible for ensuring compliance with the financial scope of the subprojects.
As such, you:
- analyze additional order requests issued by suppliers;
- challenge their technical justification;
- approve or reject requests in collaboration with the program manager;
- verify the quantities actually delivered before invoicing;
- ensure consistency between services provided and invoiced amounts;
- contribute to maintaining the overall program budget within its financial scope;
- prepare financial reporting and budget monitoring elements.
Stakeholder management
You lead a cross-functional project team composed of:
- experts from LETEC’s Cross-functional Directorate;
- representatives from the five regional Business Units;
- operations teams;
- maintenance teams;
- infrastructure teams;
- external suppliers.
You ensure:
- coordination of activities;
- organization of workshops;
- stakeholder alignment;
- risk management and arbitration;
- regular communication to the program’s governance.
Field presence
The position requires significant on-site presence and frequent travel throughout Wallonia.
You will regularly be required to:
- visit LETEC depots;
- supervise installation and uninstallation operations;
- check the quality of interventions;
- support BU teams;
- identify operational issues;
- secure commissioning.
