DESCRIPTION

The position is responsible for carrying out complex maintenance and technical tasks and designing control systems, with the aim of ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in and around the BP buildings, installations, etc., within the set quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Efficiently and safely planning, executing, and monitoring complex technical and/or maintenance tasks, with the aim of ensuring the operation of the installations.
  • Executing sub-projects within your own area of expertise.
  • Executing/managing large maintenance tasks.
  • Keeping maintenance data up to date.
  • Identifying, analyzing, addressing, and solving problems and malfunctions within your own field, with the aim of preventing or resolving process interruptions and defects.
  • Interpreting and recording malfunctions or alarms.
  • Analyzing problems.
  • Solving problems or making proposals to reach a solution.
  • Carrying out administrative tasks within your own field, with the aim of enabling data analysis, consultation, and adjustment.
  • Recording and keeping data up to date in the management system and in the logbooks.
  • Preparing dimensional sketches, P&IDs, electrical diagrams, complex process controls, etc.
  • Providing input when completing VGWs.
  • Giving technical instructions to and supervising internal and/or external employees in the use of the installations, with the aim of maximizing efficiency.
  • Providing training to colleagues on changes to installations (knowledge sharing).
  • Giving technical, operational instructions to internal employees or external parties.
  • Monitoring the work activities.
  • Executing the design assignment and functional analysis, up to commissioning, using specialized programming and design software, with the aim of contributing to the further optimization of the installations.
  • Translating a functional analysis into a technical analysis.
  • Designing control systems, making modifications to installations, and selecting the necessary materials and components.
  • Being part of an (internal/external) project group and participating in periodic meetings related to the project.
  • Programming the necessary interfaces for linking process installations with the company network, in order to ensure the operation of the installations across the entire site.
  • Setting up and managing the automation network.
  • Creating links with the company network.

Profile

You are a hands-on maintenance technician with expertise in PLC (Siemens) and measurement and control technology. You are responsible for analyzing and solving malfunctions in automation and instrumentation, and you make adjustments to small to medium-sized control systems.

You work on a day shift and are flexible in accordance with the priorities on the shop floor.

In addition, you have:

  • A bachelor’s or associate degree in a technical field, or equivalent through proven experience
  • Several years of relevant experience in a similar position (medior level)
  • Knowledge of PLC (Siemens) and SCADA systems
  • A hands-on and solution-oriented mindset
  • Awareness of the regulated environment you will be working in
