Senior Vmware specialist

Mandatory requirements

• 10 years of proven experience, of which at least 1 year in a government environment
• Holder of Belgian nationality
• Holder of a “top secret” security clearance or willing to obtain one
• All work must be performed at the VSSE. There is no possibility for working from home
• Dutch-speaking or French-speaking with a good knowledge of the other national language (Dutch or French) and of English
• In-depth knowledge of VmWare
• Demonstrable experience with Veeam backup software

Objective

Part 1: Installation and configuration of a VmWare Environment with Vsan based on Vsan ready nodes.

This includes, among others:

• Design
• Checking hardware compatibility and drivers
• Installation and configuration
• Providing a migration path from vmware to the latest stable version
• Troubleshooting
• Stress testing environment before going into production
• Documenting this environment

Part 2: Maintenance of the Vmware environments

This includes:

• Providing an environment/procedure for patches and updates
• Providing procedures for FW updates/upgrades for systems without internet access
• Providing procedures for version upgrades (pre-validation, hcl, …)

A maximum of 520 hours over a period of 12 months, on call.
