TEC – standing for ‘Transport en Commun’ – is one of the main players in mobility and economic, social, and sustainable development in Belgium. With its 5,400 employees and 120 professions, TEC (www.letec.be) is a committed company whose members all share a common goal: to improve, every day, the performance, user-friendliness, and sustainability of public transport services.

The Embedded Systems Department (DSE) leads two major TEC projects: the design and production of the new onboard computer (PFE) that will equip TEC’s 2,500 buses and trams, as well as the Operations Support System (SAE) that enables the various TEC departments to access data collected by the PFEs. These two systems operate in tandem.

To efficiently translate the needs expressed by the Business within TEC into functional specifications directly usable by the developer teams of the SAE and PFE projects, TEC wishes to engage the services of an experienced Functional Analyst IT who can work in both a pure software environment and one combining hardware and software.

This Analyst will be required to carry out functional analyses for both applications related to the new onboard computer and the application supporting the Operations Support System; together, these two teams comprise about twenty people.

Both teams work according to agile scrum practices.

MISSION

In this context, your list of responsibilities may include the following elements:

• in collaboration with the Product Owner, analyze the clients’ needs/expectations
• translate client needs into functional specifications for the developers of either agile team
• draft the Specifications Document including the requirements matrix
• document the outcome of analyses: identification/modeling of epics and features, suggestion of concrete solution(s), proposal of breakdown into user stories
• participate in discussions with the Product Manager, Product Owner, Solution Architect, developers, and testers to ensure that the delivered solution meets the client’s expressed needs
• write the user stories
• estimate the workload and effort related to analysis activities (T-shirt size)
• create diagrams: data models, BPMN, service documentation, Use Cases, or sequence diagrams
• assist testers in writing their test plan
• support Project Coordinators in evaluating a request (new product or change to an existing product)
• identify Client needs that may have an impact on both PFE and SAE

PROFILE

• you hold a Master’s degree in IT with at least 5 years of experience as a Functional Analyst or Business Analyst
• you are proficient in models such as UML and BPMN
• you are proficient in Azure DevOps
• any previous experience in the transport sector is a plus
• 5 to 10 years (medior), over 10 years (senior)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

To be compliant with the requirements, the application must fully meet the following minimum requirements:

• The candidate must possess the required minimum skills and experience (roles/skills).
• The candidate must have perfect command of the French language, both spoken and written.
• Full-time position. Possibility of 2 days teleworking per week (Thursday and Friday on-site in Namur).
