Role: Service desk agent - European Commission

Location:
Brussels, Belgium - European Commission

Responsibilities

Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:

  • User guidance and support regarding the use of information systems / ICT tools
  • Follow-up of incidents related to information systems and organisation of the reporting
  • Follow-up of user requests
  • Follow-up of bug reports
  • Document knowledge, known issues and transfer this knowledge to colleagues
  • Categorize and prioritize incoming tickets correctly and escalate where needed

Requirements

Following skills are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

  • Good experience with end user assistance and support of information systems
  • Good understanding and experience in ITIL
  • Good experience in office automation tools used in the contracting authority
  • Good understanding of end-user ICT equipment such as laptops, desktops, smartphones, etc.
  • Good understanding of wiki, collaborative sites and social networks
  • Experience supporting users of mobile devices

Languages:

  • Excellent knowledge of English - Level C1 in Understanding, Speaking and Writing
  • French is an advantage

  • Ability to provide end-user support efficiently and fast
  • Highly flexible and able to adapt to changing and/or conflicting priorities
  • Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to conceptualize complex technical environments and issues
  • Proactive attitude, customer oriented and results
  • Rapid self-starting capability and experience in team working and working in an international/ multicultural environment
  • Excellent writing skills in English to write clear and structured technical documents
  • Good interpersonal skills and proactive approach
  • Ability to give business and technical presentations
  • Ability to apply high quality standards
  • Ability to cope with fast changing technologies
