Role: User eXperience expert - European Commission

Location: Brussels, Belgium - European Commission

Responsibilities

Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:

User Experience:

• Analyse business needs in UX
• Prepares quantitative and qualitative research and analysis in UX
• Design UX and services for our online content

Front-End Expertise:

• Build and customize Twig templates for Drupal
• Develop and maintain CKEditor custom components
• Develop and maintain Angular components and applications

API Integration:

• Integrate RESTful APIs for dynamic data presentation

Accessibility and Standards Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards, such as WCAG
• Optimize applications for diverse users, ensuring a high-quality experience for all

Collaboration and Documentation:

• Collaborate with technical and non-technical audience
• Maintain detailed documentation

Requirements

Following skills are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

• Great experience in HTML5/CSS3, SASS
• Great experience working with Javascript and associated libraries such as jQuery, Ajax, Json, Gsap
• Great experience working with Angular/Typescript
• Great experience with Drupal, preferably Drupal 8/9/10
• Good experience with Drupal theming, Twig templates, and custom module integration
• Understanding of multilingual setups and internationalization like i18n for global projects
• Experience in Angular latest versions for building dynamic front-end components
• Great understanding of Angular modules, services, and component-based architecture
• Familiarity with modern front-end tooling such as Webpack, npm, etc.
• Understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles
• Experience transferring wireframes into functional interfaces
• Understanding of accessibility standards such as WCAG
• Experience using Git and collaborative tools like GitHub or GitLab
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflows and tools like JIRA and Confluence
• Familiarity with Docker or other containerization tools
• Strong debugging skills for both Drupal and Angular environments
• Familiarity with browser developer tools and performance optimization

Certificates:

The following can be covered either by certifications or proven expertise with the standards:

• Usability and accessibility standards

Languages:

• Excellent knowledge of English - Level C1/C2 in Understanding, Speaking and Writing
